Find a Yoga Nest
Select the Yoga Nest:Yoga Nest is a place where a yogin can temporarily stay in a holistic healthy yogic lifestyle. This is a not for profit website. The purpose of the website is to connect yogic lifestyle residences with people. For a place to be searchable on Yoga Nest it must meet the some minimum requirements a) Cleanliness (at least yogin's should be able to maintain cleanliness and hygiene with their efforts) b) Healthy food (preferably juicing and cooking facility) c) Quiet sleeping environment (preferably ventilated) d) Peaceful for meditation e) A daily yoga practice. The cost of lodging should preferably be free or nominal. The place should be free from clutter and it should be easy to keep the place clean. Each Yoga Nest will usually publish the details of the practices at their Yoga Nest. These practices would usually describe how the yogin can meet their lodging needs such as sleep, food, hygene, shower, laundry etc.
A yogin works towards an ultimate understanding of themselves and their connection to the universe/God and usually lead a simple life with minimal materialistic needs. While travelling at times it becomes difficult for the yogin to do their yogic practice. The purpose of the Yoga Nest is to facilitate the yogin to continue with their yogic practice while travelling.
Yoga Nest residence is a small place usually managed by a single individual where a small number (1 to 10) of yogi's or yogini's can stay. It also enables people practicing yoga to connect with each other.
The philosophy behind Yoga Nest is that the entire yoga community is one big family. Yoga Nests are yogic style residences available for yogins to stay and connect with each other.
The Yoga Nest may facilitate interaction between the resident yogin with local people needing psychological or emotional support.
The Yoga Nest would have an inventory of clothes or day to day use things (donated by other yogins) that can be used by a yogin staying at the Yoga Nest. The vision is that a yogin can come to the Yoga Nest just with their tooth brush.
Who is a yogin? One who is dedicated to his asana practice is not necessarily a yogin, and one who has never practiced a single posture can certainly be a yogin. The field of yoga is a complete system for living. It is not the mastery of yoga that produces the yogin, however, but the effort and intention they put forth. A yogin dwells in his own true nature, with recognition of the interconnectedness of all things and with the basis of love, acceptance, peace and joy. A yogin is any soul who listens for the truth in their heart,
Yoga does not limit or restrain people to follow a particular lifestyle in terms of food, yoga practice etc. Each Yoga Nest is free to form its own guidelines. For example a particular Yoga Nest may allow only vegetarian food to be cooked while a different Yoga Nest may allow non-vegetarian food to be cooked. Each Yoga Nest will clearly publish its policy regarding charges, food, alcohal, pets and smoking and will obey all local laws.
The website YOGANEST.ORG enables any travelling yogin to find a place to stay that facilitates their yogic lifestyle. The website enables the yogin to locate a convenient Yoga Nest, see if availability is there for the dates that they would be travelling and send a request to the Yoga Nest manager to reserve the Yoga Nest for them for the desired dates.
